I am a IT professional with more than eighteen years of experience in IT, when I finished my career I specialized in digital image processing, but most of my experience is as Information Technology Manager, position I hold since 2000.
I have an Executive MBA degree from ICADE and Diplomaed in Computer Science from the University of Oviedo.
I am currently enrolled in the Master in Computer Vision (Master in Computer Science with access to PhD) at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid.
Current Position
I’m the Operational CIO of GDF Suez Energy Iberia, I’m responsible for leading the IT team in the areas of Spain and Portugal. You can see all the information about the Group in Iberia here or on the links on the right.

CIO at VYSL Engineering Group.
VYSL Group is a group of companies with more than 30 years of existence. With experience in commercial centers and facilities throughout the world. My job was to manage the IT & Communications Department, the budget (CAPEX&OPEX), and all the developments we made.
We also covered a network with more than 20 concurrent workplaces sited in different countries arround the world.
I reported to the CEO as part of the Steering Committee.

IT Manager at PONS
PONS Group is a group of companies with more than 50 years of existence. Its businesses include an intelectual property agency, a company engaged in real estate consulting and an leading editorial in its sector.
I had numerous responsibilities. I managed the budget of the Group IT Department and leaded the development of projects for all group’s companies, I was hiring and coordinating external resources (software development companies).
In addition I was leading the development and the helpdesk team for the company, serving over 200 users.
I reported to the CEO as part of the Steering Committee.

CTO at CRM Consulting. (Grupo Banco Santander)
MASP CRM Consulting was a business initiative borned within the “projects incubator” BtoBFactory. It belonged to Grupo Banco Santander.
Under this initiative, my role was as a Technical Manager, responsible for designing and managing projects for the Company.
From January 2000 to March 2002
CIO at PlusValue CRM Consulting
Plusvalue was a small Spanish company that was incorporated into the D-CRM Group, belonging to French one, D-Interactive.
I performed the dual role as Information Technology Director and Project Manager. My responsibilities were to manage the software development projects and to direct the IT Department that served more than 150 internal users and a Contact Centre 50 positions.
As Chief Information Officer, I managed the budget, chose vendors and led the helpdesk and contact center teams. I designed and implemented a development methodology and quality management with great success.
I also belonged to the International Technical Committee of the company, a forum we held in Paris (in English) to decide the technology strategy group at European level.
I reported to the CEO.
From September 1997 to January 2000
Project Manager at SEMA Group (Today into ATOS ODS)
I joined SEMA as Senior Consultant and Oracle expert but after a few months I was promoted to Project Manager, taking responsibility for the whole project including 25 people.
I reported to the Account Manager.

Professor of Computer Science (MEC)
During this time I was teaching ”Application Development with relational databases and CASE tools” at a Higher Level Training Course (students between 18 and 20 years).
During this time I acquired great skill in application design and Oralce development environment (Designer and Developer Tools).
April 1993 to September 1995
Head of IT CENCO
CENCO was a central supply supermarkets, located in Ponferrada with 36 supermarkets all around the provinces of León, Lugo and Orense. Today belongs to the Erosky Group.
My main project was to change the entire company’s computer system in order to obtain a market standard system.
As system’s manager I was also dedicated to supporting community members, software training and installation of computers.

Systems Analyst. Image Processing Service
I started my career at Digital Image Processing Service at the University of Oviedo, at the beginning as a programmer and then as a systems’ analyst.
My duties were focused on the implementation of routines and expert systems for use in detection algorithms for certain types of cancers, in research scope, not at clinical scope.
